The concert was AWESOME! It was the first time I saw Elton in Concert. I have every album he has made and grew up with his music. The concert was one I will never forget. Even though I enjoy all the instruments and artists in his band I could listen to just him alone playing his piano. He puts his heart and soul in his music and I find myself remembering my life and feeling all the feelings I have over the last 45 years. He thanked his fans and was so gracious but I felt like I needed to thank him. He is blessed with his music and I felt I was Thankful to have him share his gift with me. He did something I have never seen in a concert before which warmed my heart. He not only went from side to side thanking his fans and shaking their hands. He also bent down and signed autographs. He was amazing. He took his time with his fans. So few times have I seen other artists take a second of their time to do the same. But Elton with his magnitude of success did far more than I have ever seen. I felt lucky and blessed to finally see the one concert I wanted to see for the last 45 years. Thank you Sir Elton John for sharing your heavenly talent! I am in Awe!

"Been a while since I have been to a show like this one, it was fantastic. Elton John was about as polite and giving to the audience and the audience responded with great appreciation to him. The band was amazing every song was one you sing alone with him. Being from Texas I was hoping for Texas Love Song but it was not sung. He apologized at the beginning if he did not sing a song you wanted to here. Daniel, Bennie and the Jets, Tiny Dancer and one of my favorites Funeral for a friend/ Love lies bleeding. I will miss his shows. "

A great show but what would you expect from the master showman? Lots of hits, great effects and wardrobe. The only thing I would change is that it was a bit too loud.

"There aren’t many artists who have sold more then 300 million records worldwide, but Elton John is one of these superstar legends. His single ‘Candle in the Wind’ selling 33 million copies alone, there are few who could even dream of topping that. The scope of his work is remarkable, from singer-songwriter music through to songs for feature films. And a knighthood from the Queen? Goodness me Elton! Part of the magic of his performances is seeing him sit alone at his piano, accompanying himself and improvising to his own score. Over the years of course, his voice has grown weaker, but the magic remains and his performances do not lose their power, as he is backed up by a stellar band. One man holding the attention of an arena audience seems like an incredible feat, but Elton John at home on the stage, has this down to a tee. Aiming to please the audience, he always provides a selection of his great hits as well as some of the lesser known tracks from his older albums for some variation, something that usually pleases the hungry crowd. 50 years of performances, and Elton John’s stamina remains incredibly impressive, and if you are lucky enough to get your hands on a ticket, you can expect to watch a performance of anything up to 2 hours, and I promise, it will fly by!"

"This show was completely misrepresented by ALL promoters! The vast majority of concert goers thought we were going to witness a live concert with Elton backed by the Orchestra. What we received was a grossly overpriced movie showing of “Rocketman” with the Orchestra playing in the background during certain scenes. A piano was brought out on stage during the movie intermission. At the tail end the film director introduced Elton, Bernie & the Actors. One song was performed with Elton on piano & Taron singing. That was a 5 minute nicety after a 3 hour let down. I met two nice ladies who flew in from Canada dressed up and super excited only to be completely disappointed. They gave out free concert posters at the end of show as we were exiting, that didn’t even represent what was real. I contemplate if I even want to hang on my wall as I do not wish to remember this experience because it was not a true representation of the night or what the poster implies. We should ALL be refunded!!!! Elton, were you aware of this advertising scam? "

"Why do people go 2 concerts if they want to drunk and talk loudly , disrespect the artistand spoil true fans enjoyment ? By 'Your song ' had enough and moved to wheelchair area .Unsure whether security took action , though allowed us 2 stay standing there 4 rest of show . The show was AMAZING!!! The band sounded great, and Elton John sounded AWESOME!! They played a two hour long show featuring all the hits from "Tiny Dancer" to "Bennie and The Jetts" to "Rocket Man". Please come back to Tucson because the show sold out and I wasn't able to go.

"Elton is getting up in age, he turns 70 yrs. old on Saturday March 25th. You could tell by the way that he moved around on stage. When he did get up from his piano the best he could do was put one foot upon the electric fans by his piano and wave to the audience. Although he did sign autographs at the end. I did notice that it's almost time for Elton to start using a cane to walk as his steps where far and few he was starting to shuffle his feet instead of walking, and that his voice is becoming raspy, the music was turned up so loud it just about drowned his voice. So if your going to see Sir Elton John just be prepared that it just isn't as good as it was in the 70's. The concert we went to was on March 21, 2017. "

I just spent an incredible evening with my wife and my daughter in Chicago at the Allstate arena and SIr Elton John the concert was awesome he played for nearly three hours but the sad part was this was probably his last time in Chicago, thank you Elton for all the great memories

"The concert start pretty in time. He sang/played none stop for over 2 hours which was impressive. He has such a strong voice but unfortunately his voice was not as clear as I would expected it due to a very bad sound quality in Olympia Halle! It was too loud and sharp in ears that even some people held their ears most of the time! "

Well Elton has the sense to understand that his won't hit all the high notes he used to do. So he has adapted the songs to sung writhing his band, and he sings them comfortably. But they are not exactly as you may remember hearing them. After all you are listening to the original artist, but a different variant of the song. Some of them worked really well, like Bennie and the Jets, Saturday nights alright for fighting, others not so, like Tiny Dancer. Overall a credit to a master performer, plays for over 2 and a half hours. The thank you towards the fans of Australia was quite emotional, for him and us. All unscripted, he went deep into all the years of support and encouragement he received from Aus. Possibly one of the best entertainers of his era, certainly the most flamboyant. We thank you and Bernie for your contribution of classic songs. Leon

The best Elton show I have attended. The band was very familiar and precise in their faithfulness to the original arrangements of songs that ranged all across EJ’s vast catalogue. The stage and visual presentation were appropriate for an awesome farewell performance from one of rock’s all time greats. Sir Elton’s music will always be part of the fabric that weaves the musical tapestry of my soul. Thanks for the many wonderful concert moments over the past 30 years and enjoy retirement from touring, Captain Fantastic!

I'm glad that I went. I would have been kicking myself if I hadn't. This is the third time I've seen Elton, the last being about 30 years ago. The band is awesome (how could it not be?) Ray Cooper is incredible. But you can hear age has taken its toll on Sir Elton. He does work hard, and tried to express a lot of gratitude to the fans for his long career. The biggest disappointment was the overall sound. The arena doesn't have good acoustics to start with. I wonder if pairing the soundboard with Peex was a detriment. It was hard to hear the vocals for a lot of the show. If you are going to one of the shows, I would advise to try to keep your eyes on the band. There's an enormous screen which is used quite dramatically. I found it to be a big distraction and had to remind myself to look at the stage and watch these incredible musicians.

Great concert. Elton really cranked it out with no breaks. Almost 2.5 hours. Could have been better if they toned down the amps. Just way to loud the really was hard on your ears. Glad I got to see him before he retires. Sadly musicians of my era are nearing the end.

The show was fantastic. Sir Elton John never disappoints. My view of the stage was great, everyone was friendly, it was a really wonderful experience. The only concern have are the new seats. I am an average-sized person and should be able to fit comfortably in those chairs. And I barely fit. With two above-average-sized people on either side of me, we were all uncomfortable. I understand everyone needs as much space as they need. It just seems unreasonable to have such an expensive ticket not come with a seat that people can fit it.

Absolutely Amazing, I’m very grateful I got to see what of the greats. I was even able to sneak up to basically right by the stage off to the side for his last song. Truly an amazing artist and if this is indeed his last tour, that’s a moment in time that will never be able to happen again, and I’m glad to have been there .

He was great but the majority of videos they played behind him were very distracting. If they weren't going to show the live stage action I would have preferred the videos be his career highlights and some more personal images. He's a legend and its his farewell tour, why would I want to see videos of random people that I could see on youtube anyday. I want to see him.

The coliseum was clean and comfortable to watch the show. The security staff was very attentive and neatly dressed. The only thing I could suggest would to be more aggressive in having attendees sit down to watch the show.

The whole just great! People were dancing and singing while Sir Elton John was amazing - communicating with the audience in his own way. When you see his face and expression, playing him piano - you really believe it. Thank you, Elton. Beyond expectations! P.S. everything is vey well organized, started right in time. The only thing - the sound was not very good - could be better (lot of highs and lack of lows), but it doesn’t matter when you listen to Elton.

"The SHOW was great, as a whole--I think. Video productions, etc. were awesome. Musicians looked to be performing well. The sound SUCKED! The sound in the Dallas American Airlines Center was so loud--especially the lower frequencies--that the mix was unintelligible. It was literally too loud to understand. We could distinguish not one word that was sung by Elton John--NOT ONE! Of course, we knew most of the words to the songs, but the only place we could distinguish those words was in our memories. If we EVER go to another rock/pop concert at AAC, it will be with earplugs, although even those probably wouldn't have helped at this concert. Covering my ears with my hands failed to significantly reduce the bass. I feel as though I paid $500 for two tickets to a video with an undecipherable soundtrack. While the SHOW was great, in general it was a disappointment. I have seen/heard Eric Clapton three previous times at AAC, and, while the sound was loud at those concerts, it was nothing like the Elton John concert. I suspect the fault lies with Elton John's engineers, so maybe this will be a problem elsewhere too. "

"Elton John is an amazing singer but lastnight at Cardiff City Stadium was such a disappointment. The sound quality was absolutely dreadful. The sound Tech staff should hang their heads in shame. Our night was ruined from the minute the music started. The speakers in the centre of the stadium were about 1-2 seconds delayed so there was a constant echo. If you didn’t know the words to the songs then you wouldn’t know what the hell he was singing because of the poor quality. I don’t expect to pay the money we did to see a mega star on his Farewell tour to listen to it like we had to. Everyone we spoke to was disappointed. Then there was the security....or should I say lack of...? We entered via gate 9, I had a tag put on my bag saying it had been checked. The guy never even looked inside. No personal searches were done & no one was scanned either. DISGUSTING. In this day and age where terrorism & knife crime is at its worst in the Uk, I would expect more....ALOT more. May I remind the event organisers/security team of The Manchester Arena bombing....seriously. People were entering with rucksacks, large shopping bags, golf umbrellas that could be used as weapons had there been fights etc. Then we witnessed the stewards on the pitch chatting to each other, texting, filming Elton John & basically doing everything BUT supervise the crowds. An Absolute shambles from start to end. I will certainly remember this concert but NOT for the right reasons. Everyone who stepped into that stadium lastnight was FAILED & LET DOWN."

The production was first class by Baby Boomer standards; however, I would grade the performance as a B. Elton doesn't have the voice anymore, so he doesn't try for the real high notes and resorts to screaming some of the lyrics. The music was pretty tight, though he took liberties with the melody sometimes. Overall, it was a great show but it wasn't the best. I understand he will be performing over 300 concerts throughout this farewell tour, lasting into the Fall of 2021. That's a lot. He's not getting any younger and, in fact, he's seems to have some difficulty with mobility.You can Google his play list but it doesn't include some of his bigger hits (Honky Cat or Harmony). He did go for nearly 2 hours straight and came back for a 2-song encore. I had comp tickets, but probably wouldn't pay the $300+ if I had to buy them. Glad I went, though. He is a legend!

Great time at the concert last night at Staples. Elton amazes me Everytime I see him, like each time is my first. I took my daughter to her first ever Elton concert when she was 14, so it only seemed fitting that I would take her to see his last (21 years later). Thank you for an amazing journey Sir!

"It was incredible!! His voice was so strong and he sang with all his heart. He got up and thanked us all for being at the show after almost every song. The lightshow was incredible and the chosen videos to highlight his songs kept it vibrant and alive. I kinda wished they showed Elton himself more on maybe the smaller screens to the side - the stadium was huge, and we were there to see Him, not just a series of videos. But the music was great, the songs chosen were awesome, and the night was a blast. :)"

"Well all I can say is I saw him back in the late 70s and he sounds so good it made me feel like I was 18 again and I am 59 now his voice is just awesome still to this day. His band is awesome everyone was in the spirit at the concert wearing Elton John glasses you you name it it was there. I was glad I went, the laser light show was great also. I saw him in St Louis Missouri at the Enterprise Center. You can look at pictures and videos on Google Maps under Enterprise Center. if I was you I would not miss this concert. "

"Saw Elton twice in the 1980’s, this show blew the others away. The old man played for over 2 1/2 hours nonstop. Elton sounded better than ever and the band was tight. Special effects video screen was awesome, lots of video from back in the day. He and the bands interaction with the audience was refreshing. Almost as much fun as watching the show was people watching, fans went out of their way to dress up in extravagant and over the top outfits. Got to hear Funeral for a Friend/Love Lie Bleeding live for first time.. worth the wait!!! The entire audience sang all the lyrics to every song "

"Sir Elton gave his Hartford fans a full three hours of appreciation and memories. The band played most of the old favorites with a couple new tunes thrown in for good measure. The background graphics were a lot of fun - especially if you lived in LA in the 1970's! Not too sure what the dancing to Philadelphia Freedom was all about but the colorful dancers were entertaining. I especially loved Elton's introductions of his band members; he seemed to genuinely love those guys and it's easy to see why - they are fabulous! The concert was worth every penny (even though I did not have to pay)!! "

"I have been a huge fan of Elton since 1972 and have seen many of his live concerts. Somehow he is getting better. I seen him three years ago and last night his voice was the strongest I've heard in decades, his piano playing even more strenuous and complex. His song list consisted of twenty-four songs. Most of his set consisted of his seventies catalog with a couple from the rest of his career. Also, for a change, he had an opening band called, Bright Lights, Bright Lights. They were phenomenal and reminded me of the eighties electronic pop scene. I will definitely be downloading there album. Definitely a must see concert. For us fans, we never know when it we be the last time we see one of the greatest artist if our generation. "

"Wow! What a showman and still has it, even at 69, and great to see him back in Leicester at the County Cricket Ground at Grace Road. Elton and his band worked their way through all the classic songs, as well as a few new ones, and Elton even threw in one of his legendary tantrums for good measure, telling the security staff in no uncertain terms to sit down or else he would stop the concert! Thankfully he didn't and it was a really great evening, only spoilt slightly by the drizzle, long queues at the bar and a slightly abrupt ending, but none of these spoilt a fantastic gig! The concert was fantastic. This was my 6th Elton John concert that I have been to and he never fails to please the crowd. Sadly the wind effected the sound though. Elton's tribute to Jonah Lomu was really heartfelt and beautiful. It was so lovely to see the whole audience swaying and holding up their cel phones and singing along with Elton to Don't let the sun go down on me. The same thing was done to one of my favourite songs, Candle in the wind which was written about Marilyn Monroe and later changed for Princess Diana it to was really emotional I will never forget that. The thing about Elton John is that you could tell that he really wanted to be there and that he truly loves what he does. He is a proffesional polished act. The other thing that was so good was that there were people of all ages at the concert. Elton John's music is timeless and ageless.

Great concert. I was six rolls up from the Floor. There was two screens one on each side of the stage over the seats. Started at 8/7c. I live in Al. so I like the hour time difference. It was a sold out concert. Everybody was standing up dancing by their seats. Elton left the stage after just guessing 20 songs. After he left the stage. Everybody was hooping and hollowing, clapping like crazy. He came back and sang one more song before the show ending at around 10:40/9:40c. This was the 3rd E.J. concert. 1st was in 1999 in Chattanooga Tn. He was there alone. Then Sept. 12, 2012 in Huntsville, Al. with the band. And this time with the band. I didn't go to the 2013 Chattanooga concert because it hasn't been that long since I saw him in Huntsville. Now I'm waiting for Rod Stewart to come to Chattanooga. I saw him in Tampa Fl. when I lived near by for a short time.

I have been an Elton John fan since the 70s and this concert in Roanoke was the first chance I have had to see him and The Elton John Band perform live. It exceeded any possible expectations!! The sound live is so all encompassing, the piano so mesmerizing and so many of my favorite EJ songs! To hear 'Your Song' done in concert is just the most beautiful experience! Other numbers especially noteworthy in this concert were 'Philadelphia Freedom', 'I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues', 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' and one of his newest songs 'Good Heart'. The encore finale number of 'Crocodile Rock' just blows away any recording of it I have ever heard, phenomenal concert!! No other performer I have ever seen went the whole concert the way Elton John did, just amazing, I am so thankful I went and I would see him again if he tours anywhere I can reasonably get to. AMAZING, you will regret it if you miss the opportunity to hear this iconic performer and his band! I only wished I'd known ahead of time that Elton was going to sing for 3 hrs straight w/two song encore. As I now realize I missed almost 90 min, by leaving to catch the train home. The price you gotta pay for having no car and relying on public transportation. Otherwise Elton was fabulous! !!

Elton played all of the bits and more!!! He didn't leave the stage! When he came back for an encore he signed autographs for all of the fans up at the front of the stage! Awesome musicianship and a tight band made for a wonderful evening!

Elton John is three weeks from his 70th Birthday and you would never know it. He to the stage right on time and played for 2 hours and 20 minutes straight never breaking for more than two minutes between songs except when he introduced his band. He was every bit as good as the first time I seen him over 20 years ago. I want to rate it 5 stars and the app won't allow me.

The concert was great as always! Seats were comfortable and the process to get into the Coliseum was swift. Parking is outrageous at $40 but I’m sure I’m not the first to complain. $16.50 is even more absurd for a Coors lite.

This show was incredible! We bought the kind of behind the stage seats because my son is in a wheelchair. Well.....we were soooooo close! Right above Elton and his piano:-) Moline is a small enough venue to hear everything!

I would give it 10 stars if I could! The MOST TALENT I have ever witnessed! SO THANKFUL I got to see it! His main percussionist is absolutely amazing and there were 4 different drum sets set up on stage with people playing them at different times and or all together! And his piano is on a track that moved from side to side on the stage!

So wonderful! My mom and I dressed as Elton (we made our outfits and glasses!) and I brought my drawing of him with me in hopes to get it to him, but our seats were at the highest level. Though we were far, I felt his love and his all-welcoming energy, it was such an amazing experience. Thank you, Elton John for the best farewell and sharing all of this time with the fans that love you so much.

Elton John was one of the first bands I ever like, ever since I was a child some of my earliest memories was listening to Crocodile Rock and Tiny Dance! This was the first concert where my whole family actually went to. I will never forget this concert and will cherish it forever!

This show was just about as good as I expected. It was incredible! I have not seen him in 43 years. His Voice was awesome. Very strong and can still belt those great Ballads. My favorite was someone saved my life tonight. Will have such great memories! Thank you Elton!!

The best concert I have been to period. I am very lucky to see this man perform one last time. My mom was my age during his prime and here I am now able to see him perform. She came along with me, she was able to finally see him after 49 years! Amazing!!

He was amazing. The whole band was. It was a perfect show. On the way home my husband and I was naming songs he didn't sing but he did a 3 hour show . He didn't have time to do them all. It was a great time and he will be missed. LEGENDARY

I splurged for a VIP ticket since this was Elton’s farewell concert. That was the best decision. I didn’t just get an outstanding concert. I met and mingled with other concert goers ore-show, had champagne and heavy appetizers, took a tour of the set, learned more of the history, and finally, got a 3rd row center seat for the show. He is still quite the entertainer.

Great show by a legendary performer. Emphasis was on the music and not theatrics which is how it should be. I'd give it 4.8 stars because some of my favorites were left out of the lineup but with 50 years of music to pick he's got to narrow it some how. The band was phenomenal and the staging allowed them to shine as well. Sir Elton was a very gracious showman, with just enough stories to let us see a bit more of him.

Elton John was amazing and deserved 5 stars. The seating was a disaster. I purchased the tickets last October 2018, since then the venue added more seating which changed all the ticket seat numbers. We arrived early, thank goodness, ushers were seating people so the wait was all backed up. We were pointed to the section we were in and told the seat numbers are wrong but these are your seats. Another usher came up to us with ticket holders and told us we were in the wrong seats during the show. We were in the correct seats. Some of the ushers knew what they were doing some did not. The show started and people were still coming in on their own to seats they thought were theirs and arguing with the ones already in their seats. We had people standing in the row in front of us for the first several songs blocking our view, arguing about seats. At the very least we should have received an email saying be advised your seat numbers may be different than what’s on your ticket please allow extra time.

A great night full of hits and sparkle! The only bummer was the garden wasn't prepared for his prompt 8pm start time (take note, no opener on this tour!) so I missed a few songs. He played a full 2.5 hours with no breaks!!! Elton has performing in his bones, and is so amazing! Get out and see him before he really retires! You won't regret it!

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Elton John is a hero, the set was incredible, the sound was as loud as I had hoped for, the fans were totally happy, my seat was terrific, the show began right on time. He is a person who seems to genuinely love what he does, and he shared his joy and warmth with everybody in the audience to the point where we felt we were part of the show. Even the confused and very long subway ride back home on the T didn't bother anyone because the experience at TD North had been so exciting and wonderful. Great show. I had those tickets for about a year and a half and it was well worth the wait! Great selection of hits from all eras of his music. May not be as nimble on his feet anymore but still puts on a hell of a show!

Sir Elton played for nearly 3 hours in Boston to a very enthusiastic crowd. I thought his voice was a bit raspy but he still handles all the melodies. He played virtually all of his hits from his nearly 50 year career. Highlights were 'Rocket Man' and 'Funeral for a Friend'.

I was in awe!! The energy Elton and his band members put into his show was astounding. The sound was exemplary and the mixing so on point!! It was the best live experience o e could have! Elton John put on an awesome show. He didn’t disappoint. The venue could do better on the food options. I’ve been to other arenas for concerts and they had better food . $22 for3 tiny pieces of chicken that looked like scraps with fries and a regular soda. The choices offered weren’t great. I get an overstuffed pastrami sandwich at Citifield for $13.50 Same price for a shake shack burger and fries.

We had a great experience while at the Elton John concert. As my title says, he only gets better with age. Love him, love his band. I also loved the backdrop HUGE screen. We were sitting way up, so it really enhanced the experience, and we also enjoyed the assortment of backdrop images. Very cool! If I had only one thing to complain about, I guess it would be the extra enhanced experience some of the fans bought. At times it was weird, because we heard the concert, but some people must have turned the volume to high on the devices, and it was a bit distracting. Other than that, it was a great night. Please lure Sir Elton back again before he retires!!!

Long time fans - we were at the Nov. 28, 1974 Thanksgiving concert at Madison Square Garden celebrating John's birthday at the show. Best present ever - John Lennon appeared on stage with Elton and perormed 3 songs!!! This concert did not disappoint - sound system reverberated thru our bodies into the back of our seat. The special effects employed all of today's technology and blew us away with the thunder and lightning introducing Funeral For Friend! The videos accompanying the various songs enhanced the experience. A perfect farewell to one of our favorite entertainers!

One of the artists my wife and I pledged to see before it was too late. Everything was great, Elton gave it his all, and it really showed. Had the usual, and persistent, PPG Paints Arena issue of being surrounded by people who didn't have floor seats barging in. We arrived and people were in our seats, usher moved them down, then another few people arrived whose seats they were in as well. Moved them down again. Never once did I see the usher even check tickets of the people that were not supposed to be there. Regardless, if this is supposed to be a review of Elton (and/or Ticketmaster's service) all was great, 5 out of 5. We received our bonus material about two weeks before the show which was cool. If this is a review of PPG Paints Arena staffing, I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Countless events there, its always the same, Billy Joel, The Who, Fleetwood Mac (twice), were about to give up on floor seats.

Being the first time seeing Elton live, it was awesome. Putting on a show over 2 1/2 hours was amazing at his age. The only downside was TD Garden seats are extremely small and I'm only 5' 6" 165.

Elton John is just an exceptional person in every way and if you close your eyes at the show, you almost forget it is 2019 and feel as though you're transported back to 1970. When he's at the piano, the energy in the arena is spiritual and I hang onto every note. He and his AMAZING band played for 3 hours straight both times I saw him and not a dip in energy or performance. Just amazing. Can't wait to see him again next April!! Worth the absurdly high cost of the ticket. Love you, Elton!!

Elton John, the consummate performer, did not disappoint. I saw him when he came to Nashville last year and had such a good time I had to experience it again, this time with my mom. Definitely had better seats than the nosebleeds that I had last time, and I enjoyed that my mom had such a good time. If you have the chance to see him, do so before he finishes for good.

You might laugh at that title but you won't when I tell you that I'm a 20 year old girl and I'll be seeing Elton live for my 7th time in May. I am so addicted to him, I've spent $10,000 on him in just 3 1/2 years! I'll tell you why- it's easy. As a 72 year old man, you don't even know he's older. He has a little trouble walking around, but his spirit is NEVER dampened. At all the shows I have gone to, Elton has done incredible things to welcome his fans, such as bringing a 5 year old on stage to personally touching my own hand when I was front row. Elton has read my posters, blew me kisses at several shows and even played a game the last time I saw him where he stuck out his tongue at me! When a fan is really into him, he feeds off their energy. He LOVES to perform, you can see it in his eyes, feel it when he touches every key. Speaking of his piano, I also had the pleasure to do the VIP experience last month, and Elton's team was EXCEPTIONALLY AMAZING to me/us. I was in row 5, which doesn't do the stage rush. But Elton's team let me up to the front anyway because I was VIP! I COULD NOT believe it. That was the show where I touched Elton's hand! THANK YOU to Lindsey! I also saw Elton at his final Million Dollar Piano show and I gotta say, when I met some of the band members that night, I was blown away with their kindness!! I got photos and autographs from all Kim, Davey, and Ray! And then a few months later Davey gave me his guitar pick and Kim gave me both of Nigel's drumsticks! I'm just another fan like everyone else, they treat all the fans with this kind of love I swear! The security guards even gave me the setlist at numerous shows- it's a surreal experience! Plus Elton sounds pure, smooth and powerful for a 72 year old. His piano playing is never cut short, and the stage production is so beautiful but grand! I spoke to the guy who set up the stage during my VIP and he is such a genuine, passionate guy for Elton as well. Elton makes fans feel like family, and YES most of the prices for this show is WORTH IT. Just not all the scalpers, lol. But I kid you not, if you sit up close, beware of those bass speakers. They HURT your ears, and this is coming from a 20 year old who doesn't have hearing damage (yet). They still rock and roll though!

"Elton’s Farewell concert made a stop in Sacramento, California in January. It began with the singular note to ""Benny & the Jets"". Elton paused and the crowd roared. There is no other song that starts that way. Friendly and engaging, he said he hoped that he would play everyone's favorite song but that if he did not, he was sorry because there simply wasn’t enough time to sing them all. He told us that he has known his friend and lyricist Bernie Taupin since they were 17 years old. The ""Your Song"" lyrics were given to Elton by Bernie when the boys were at Elton's parent’s house. Elton went into another room to the family piano and started composing the music. He said their collaborative writing process has always been that way, they have never been in the same room together to write music. Ever. How their partnership of over 50 years works is a mystery to them both. Elton is gay and collects art. Bernie likes guns. They started out only as a songwriting team, never expecting to play their own music. No one was interested in their songs in the UK so in 1970 they left for L.A. and Elton began to literally sing for their supper. The Troubadour was the debut of ""Your Song"". It was a hit and they never looked back. Elton spoke of how his on-stage outrageous costume persona evolved. Video clips reminded us of his mile-high platform shoes, his sequined Dodgers uniform, the Donald Duck suit, the hats, the glasses. “I was no front-man”, he said. “ I was stuck sitting behind a piano. Look at me for God's sake.....what else was I to do?"". His wardrobe for the night in Sacramento was epic. Three complete costume changes, all designed by Gucci, from candy-colored glasses to sequined oxford toe. His jacket for the opening number was a jewel crusted, brocaded velvet wonder. It was the stuff of kings. At the end of the show he exited in a Gucci tracksuit, complete with spangly Gucci tennis shoes. His hair has never looked better. The show was enhanced by vintage video of Elton of long ago. Elton the performer and Elton just having fun. There was a beautiful tribute to his extraordinary charity work that continues to raise millions for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. His worldwide philanthropy efforts will be felt for decades. He is a married man and proud daddy to two young boys, Levon and Elijah. A big reason for the goodbye tour is so that he can devote more time to his family which clearly brings him so much happiness. It was a night I will never forget. Over two hours long, twenty-four songs with no intermission. Songs you don’t hear on the radio anymore like “Take Me to the Pilot” and “Burn Down the Mission”. Banging through a powerhouse extended-version of “Levon”, catching our breath through “Candle in the Wind” and then a raucous version of my favorite song ""Funeral for a Friend...Love Lies Bleeding."" Oh and other favorites ""Rocket Man"", ""I'm Still Standing"" and “Someone Saved my Life Tonight.” The list went on and on. Even the loathsome (my opinion) “Philadelphia Freedom” made me smile. I love that his guitarist/band director Davey Johnstone and drummer Nigel Olsson have been with him for over 40 years. All of his suit-and-tie dressed band members are excellent showmen and each had a chance to showcase their talent. The night ended with an encore of “Your Song” and a magnificent sing-along to “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Even now I get goose bumps thinking about it. I have been to hundreds of shows, backstage a few times. To this day, when the lights go down and a performer like that strides out....the roar of a crowd of 17,000 plus people is an extraordinary reminder of being truly alive and in the presence of creative magic. Sharing one more video, because I’ve had this song on repeat all day. 💕 Music and art has been an integral part of my life since I was a child and still helps me combat stress in my adult life. There really is no better medicine than a night of dancing and singing, and I’m so thankful to have witnessed a piece of @eltonjohn ‘s incredible unique talent and 50 year career in person and to hear his inspiring words about his life! I’m sad the magical experience is over, but I’m now looking forward to his upcoming movie and autobiography! 🚀

What an extraordinary musician he is! I can’t adequately express how lucky I feel to have, for the first and last time in my life, seen him in concert! It was an astonishing show on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. Another Bucklet List box checked off. I’m so happy I could experience it with my girl too!

But it wouldn’t be John’s style to go out with a small, quiet, understated show. As promised, the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour is the most bombastic, elaborate, high-tech arena show he’s ever attempted. And even though much of the setlist is familiar fare, he’s paired many of the songs with new videos by the likes of photographer David LaChapelle and animator Alan Aldridge that provide new perspective on the tunes.
